Before the game began the Boston fire department honor guard was led onto the ice by firefighter Jeremy Washburn. The crowd has just finished the anthem and remained standing when the fire fighters came out.

As Washburn and the honor guard left the ice, the Daily News reports he said, "Wow, that was f**king awesome."

Rene Rancourt, who was supposed to complete the entire national anthem, gladly handed the song over to the crowd was heard joking at the game about getting paid anyway even though he didn't sing.

A man speaking with Rancourt said to him, "I didn't know you could lip sync. You get paid for that?"

The Boston Bruins lost the game against the Buffalo Sabres, but points cannot measure what they accomplished. In a Country that idolizes the sports world, the Boston Bruins and their fans showed the rest of the world that while the city is still on edge, they are healing and ready to help their city move on.
