Nicole Eggert Hospitalized: Backflip Went Wrong on ABC's Diving SHow "Splash"[VIDEO]

Nicole Eggert, 41, joins a growing list of divers who've voluntarily left the ABC reality Show "Splash."  The "Baywatch" actress back-flopped into the pool yesterday leaving her severely injured and hospitalized.

Although Eggert didn't break any bones, doctors were concerned about internal injuries, especially to her kidneys.

The star, who was spotted practicing a series of complicated high dives earlier this week, was released from hospital a few hours later.

Chuy Bravo fractured his heel, Katherine Webb suffered a back injury and has since left the show, and Rory Bushfield ruptured his eardrum a few weeks ago.

The ABC show seems more like Fear Factor than a Celebrity Diving Show.

Sources say the "Charles in Charge" alum was trying to execute a dive that included multiple backflips, but something went wrong, and she went crashing into the water back first, really hard.

We're told the impact looked so painful that on-site EMTs rushed in to pull the contestant out of the pool and she went to a nearby hospital for treatment.

"This is way out of my comfort zone for so many reasons," she previously told the show's co-host Joey Lawrence.  "So here I am going to be in a bathing suit in front of the whole world again, then throw myself off a high platform."

"I am a single mum of two little girls, we have had highs and lows and struggles, and if at my age I can go and win something like this and show them that if you want something you can do it."

Unfortunatley she was unsuccessful this week.

Kendra Wilkinson, recently left the competition, causing a stir with her "diving is not my thing" decision. Kendra claimed she was terrified of heights and woke up shaking every morning. She announced her departure from the show while standing on the diving board, too afraid to make one more jump. The former Playboy Playmate claims when she signed up for the reality series she falsely assumed it would be more like swimming that acrobatics.

The series is based on the Dutch series of the same name. It has celebrities perform dives from extreme heights and each week the challenges increase in difficulty.

Rating For the ABC show have been mediocre, not surprisingly. If the contestants are dropping out than why should the viewers participate?
