Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Officially Divorce; Pair Had Battled In Court For 18 Months

After 18 months of bitter legal drama, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are officially divorced.

A settlement conference between the pair yesterday, who ended their controversial 72-day marriage in October 2011, resulted in an official divorce between the Brooklyn Nets NBA star and the reality star. However, Kardashian was the clear winner in the legal proceedings.

Sources connected with the case tell TMZ that Humphries will receive no money, despite previously demanding $7 million. He also dropped his request for the marriage to be annuled based on fraud. Each party will also pay their own attorney fees, with both Humphries and Kardashian reportedly spending $300,000 each to fight the legal battle up to this point.

However, Kardashian requested to the court that Humphries not be financially punished for being a no-show at their legal hearing last week. The judge in the case granted the request.

Humphries did not attend the hearing due to professional reasons. He is currently with the Brooklyn Nets gearing up for the NBA Playoffs.

The bitter battle ensued because while Kardashian wanted a clean divorce, Humphries declared that the marriage was a publicity stunt for her reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. She has steadfastly denied the claim and Humphries was never able to document any real evidence that the marriage was a fraud.

Sources close to Kardashian said that she was "excited" to see Humphries and hopefully be able to talk so they could resolve "unfinished business" and move forward in their lives. She has reportedly reached out to Humphries numerous times since their divorce, but he has not responded.

Kardashian is now dating rapper Kanye West. The pair are expecting their first child together sometime this summer. She is also reportedly set to sing backing vocals on one of his tracks due out later this year.
