Scary Spice, Mel B., Banned From "Australia's Got Talent"...Already Under Contract WIth "Ex-Factor"

Former "Scary Spice," from England's all girl group, the Spice Girls, Mel B. has been banned from "Australia's Got Talent."

Scary Spice, aka Mel B., lost her space as a judge on "Australia's Got Talent" given that her contract with "The X Factor," a show featured on Nine Network, has not yet expired.

Mel B. was scheduled to appear on an Australian version of "The X Factor" for the Seven Network.

The Seven Network took Mel B. to court for breach of contract, which reportedly states that Mel B. can't appear on a rival show until after 2013. The Seven Network won, and now Scary Spice has been banned from "Australia's Got Talent" until at least 2014.

This means that Scary Spice will be unable to participate in Season Seven of "Australia's Got Talent," which is about to begin filming.

However, it's not clear if Mel B. will still appear on "The X Factor." Seven said it planned to use Mel B. in a limited role on "The X Factor" in 2013 and has not announced whether Mel B. will appear next season.

Brown's husband, Stephen Belafonte, told the court he had a conversation with Seven production director, Brad Lyons, in December in which he flagged the "looming issue" of her children's visas, which would stop her staying in Australia for the show.

Both Brown and Nine claimed her agreement with Seven expired that month, and she never accepted any deal to extend it after that.

However, Judge David Hammerschlag ruled, "Under the agreement, Mel has an obligation to provide her exclusive services to Seven, and Seven is entitled to her performance of this obligation."

"I see no reason why she should not be ordered to keep her word that she would not work for anyone but Seven in Australia in 2013."

A spokesperson for the Seven Network said, "We welcome the decision of the court, upholding its contract with Mel B. and preventing her working for a competitor in breach of contract in 2013."

Another source for Seven said, "It's about making sure contracts are honored. We could have just let her go, but that would mean the contract doesn't mean anything."

"Australia's Got Talent" is now searching for a replacement and reports suggest that Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, may replace Mel B.

It's Scary Spice vs. Baby Spice for the coveted judging position.  That in itself is more entertaining than any of Simon Cowell's "Ex-Factor" shows.
