’28 Months Later’ Release Date To Happen In 2016? Danny Boyle Talks About Possibility Of Film

After "28 Days" and "28 Weeks Later" became successful, fans of the movie series couldn't stop asking the film makers to possibly create a "28 Months Later" release date to see what the world is up to months after the breakout in the story.

Director Danny Boyle and producer Alex Garland recently talked to Movie Pilot about the movie and revealed how the two of them talked about a potential release date and continuation of the story.

"About two years ago, Danny started collaborating on the potential to make 'Trainspotting 2,' another sequel," quickly shifted his idea for a potential release date of "28 Months Later." In that conversation, an idea for '28 Months' arrived. I had a funny idea. I had a sort of weird idea that popped into my head...I had this thought, and I suggested it to Andrew and Danny, but I also said I don't want to work on it. I don't really want to play a role, and Andrew said, 'Leave it to me.' So he's gone off and is working on it."

Boyle, meanwhile accepted the idea of a possible "28 Months Later" release date and claimed that he is just waiting for a script to come.

"I've got no problem [with 28 Months Later]," Boyle said earlier this year while promoting his other movie, "Steve Jobs." "It's the usual thing, ...it's not about whether people think it's a good idea that you're directing. It's whether you respond to the script or not. It's just like on [Steve Jobs]. I got the script and I went, 'That was amazing. I hope I can add to that somehow and it be even better than just the experience of reading it."

Meanwhile, Garland also talked to Cinema Blend this year and claimed how the movie release date would potentially be called "28 Months Later" than "years," as they would try continue where they left off.

"It's more likely to be 28 Months than 28 Years. 28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss."
