Momoland, the popular K-pop girl group, is officially reuniting after a two-year hiatus from activities.

On Thursday, Inyeon Entertainment confirmed that six members—Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy—have signed exclusive contracts to resume group activities. This partnership marks a fresh chapter for the group, which had disbanded in February 2023 following the expiration of their contracts with MLD Entertainment.

That said, one notable absence in the reunion is Daisy, a former member who left the group in 2020 under contentious circumstances. Daisy previously revealed in a TikTok live broadcast that she did not leave voluntarily but was fired by MLD Entertainment. She claimed to have been removed without prior discussion and later won a legal battle against the agency over unpaid wages.

Daisy's exclusion from the reunion does not come as a surprise to many fans. Following her departure, she distanced herself from the K-pop industry and maintained minimal contact with former members. That said, she has remained active on TikTok.

Momoland was initially formed in 2016 through the reality show "Finding Momoland." The group quickly rose to prominence following the debut of their seven members—Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy. Two other idols, Daisy and Taeha, joined in 2017.

Their breakout hit "Bboom Bboom" in 2018 catapulted them to international fame, earning them accolades such as the World K-Pop Rookie award at the Gaon Chart Music Awards. Other hits like "BAAM" and "Thumbs Up" also earned them nominations and awards.

Over their career, Momoland accumulated 23 awards from 64 nominations and became a household name among K-pop fans worldwide.

Internal issues began when Taeha and Yeonwoo left the group in 2019 amid allegations of manipulation during "Finding Momoland." The group also struggled with mismanagement by MLD Entertainment, which included inconsistent promotions and lengthy hiatuses. In 2023, the six remaining members chose not to renew their contracts with MLD Entertainment.
