Long Island Mom Kids Fire BB Gun Allegedly For Two Weeks, Breaking Car Windows

A Long Island mother faces charges that include the endangering of the welfare of a child for allegedly driving her two children and another boy around shooting out car windows with a bb gun.

The bb gun, which Susan Becker, 43, purchased for her children was arrested Friday.

Mom's kids fire bb guns allegedly throughout the Long Island towns of Commack, Hauppauge and Islandia.

"I'm not surprised. The way parents are dealing with children these days. It's not like when I was growing up." Wayne burrport, a nearby neighbor, told NBC.

There were over 60 reports of vehicle damage in the three towns the group allegedly went firing away with the bb gun.

Police confirmed that Becker's son, 13, daughter, 15, and another boy, 15, joined them in the shooting spree.

Susan Morelli is another neighbor of Becker, but said she was surprised at these allegations.

"Susan is a great mom, she's a great neighbor, she's always there to help everybody," Morelli said. "A very all-American typical mom. I just can't say enough nice things about her because she's just such a nice person."

She added about the BB gun firing,"...that we don't know about. ... She just wouldn't do something like that."

Police stated that these shootings have gone on for a two-week span.

"It's more than just a window breaking or the damage of window or a car," said one resident, Michelle Delarosa. "You could have actually hurt someone."
