Deftones May Reveal New Album Title This Month; Release Expected In 2016

A new album from Deftones is on its way but the band recently revealed that they haven't thought of any name for the tracks or the record itself and that the official title is expected to be announced any time soon.

Drummer Abe Cunningham and band DJ Frank Delgado recently talked to NME and revealed that the band hasn't thought of any titles for the song and the record while they wait for the mixing of the new Deftones album.

"It's being mixed now," Cunningham added. "It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They're actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things and... We're mixing and we still are in the process of album title, artwork, song titles. We haven't even got there yet, but the music's done."

As for the release date of the disc, Delgado revealed that they should have their follow up to "Koi No Yokan" ready by 2016.

"It's going to come out in the new year," Delgado said. "We had some dates that were already kind of tentative."

Furthermore, the man behind the turntables and keyboards for the group also revealed in a different interview, which was reported by Blabbermouth, how different their sound would be on their upcoming release.

He revealed how the group took time in writing and recording the songs, as well as the whole progress of the disc.

"This one was different," Delgado said of their new Deftones album. "This one was a lot of starting and stopping, which I think is something we would've been scared of before."

"For the last couple of records, we went in and we started writing and we didn't stop until we finished the record," he said. "This one we took our time and it was a good pace. Everyone needed that break to breathe, to go home to family. Now we're ready to be able to work like this. It allowed us to think about things longer as opposed to get something done by a deadline."
