Mom Who Told Kids To Fire BB Gun Out The Window Of Her Car Is Charged: Susan Becker Of Long Island Arraigned On $30,000 Bail

A Long Island, N.Y. mom who told her teenage kids and their friends that it was fine to fire their BB gun out of the window of her car while she drove, was arraigned on Saturday.

Susan Becker, 43, of East Northport was charged with 10 counts of criminal mischief and 11 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Newsday reports.

Bail was set at $30,000 for the mom who allegedly allowed her teenage kids, a 15-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son, to fire their BB gun at other cars while she was on the road, according to NBCNewYork.

The mischievous mom also reportedly allowed her kids' teenage friend to fire the BB gun out her car window.

Becker's neighbor, Wendy Morelli, who called her a "great mom" and a "great neighbor," was shocked to learn of the charges of errant BB gun fire.

"She's always there to help everybody," Morelli said of Becker. "This doesn't seem real. She's just such a good person."

The East Northport, Long Island mom, who was arrested on Friday in Hauppauge, reportedly gave her kids the BB gun as a present.

According to Suffolk County police, there have been over 60 reports of damage to car windows in the towns of Islandia, Hauppauge and Commack in the past two weeks.

"There was massive hole right across here," recalled one driver who had his car window busted up with BBs allegedly fired by Becker's kids. "It was so strange.  The glass is still here. The glass is all over the road. We had to sweep it up. It's just a mess."

Local parent John McGuigan, who has three kids, told PIX11 that he is baffled by the actions of Becker and her kids.

"The likelihood that somebody's going to get hurt with that kind of behavior is just insane," McGuigan said. "I don't know why anyone would want to do that."

Becker's Legal Aid attorney reports that BB gun blasting mom had no criminal record at the time of her arrest.
