Madonna's Homeless Brother Anthony Ciccone Arrested; Ciccone Booked After Drunken Altercation With Police

It's safe to say that not everyone in Madonna's family has had the same good fortune as she has. While the singer recently joined the billion dollar club, her homeless brother Anthony Ciccone was arrested after a drunken altercation with a police officer. Ciccone, who has been homeless for 18 months after losing his job, said he has an estranged relationship with Madonna.

A local police officer in the town of Traverse City, Michigan, was trying to get Ciccone to leave the bathroom of the local civic center. The police report notes that he reportedly refused and "pulled away, turned around and confronted the female officer in an aggressive manner. She turned him around and brought him to the ground, which is when he struck his face on the bathroom floor."

The bathroom fall led him to be taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment, where he needed nine stitches to close up the wounds in his forehead. Tests performed at the hospital showed that his blood alcohol level was at 0.40, five times the amount considered to be intoxicated in the state of Michigan.

Ciccone already had a warrant out for his arrest after refusing to leave a local bookstore last month. He has since been booked without bond in Traverse County Jail and likely faces felony counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer.

Ciccone was previously working for his father's winery in the Michigan town of Sutton Bay, but was reportedly fired due to his drinking. Madonna has said in previous interviews that she has attempted to help her brother beat his alcoholism, but that he is simply unwilling to help himself.

"You think I haven't answered this kind of question a bazillion times - why my sister is a multibazillionarie, and I'm homeless on the street?" he said in a 2011 interview. "Never say never. This could happen to anybody."
