Psy Takes Number One on Music Bank Despite Absence and Controversy

Psy has crossed the Pacific to begin his promotional tour in the United States.

Back home, however, he is still winning.

On April 26, Psy's "Gentleman" took the number one trophy home on KBS's 'Music Bank' once again. He has ranked first for four consecutive weeks with the latest victory on Friday. After the announcement of the win, the hosts Jung Jin Woon and Park Seyoung commented that the trophy will be relayed to one of Psy's associates to be handed over to Psy, who was not present at the show due to his U.S. tour.

Girl's Day, Teen Top and the two hosts put on a joint performance in Psy's stead.

Psy's winning streak on the KBS music show is a bit ironic. After the unreasonable rejection of Psy's music video due to immoral damaging of public property in its content, KBS has gone back on its word and granted a re-review of the music video upon the allegation that the initial review violated its ruling policy of requiring over half of the committee members to be present.

On the April 26 episode of 'Music Bank,' SHINee, INFINITE, 4Minute, Girl's Day, K.Will, Lyn, Juniel and many other artists shared the stage.
