Justin Bieber Could Land In Prison For Weed; Marijuana Is Highly Illegal In Istanbul and Dubai, Where Bieber Will Perform Next On Tour

Justin Bieber better hope that all the drugs are off his tour bus. After his tour bus was raided for weed in Stockholm, Bieber left the country today for upcoming shows in Finland and Russia. But when he performs next week in Istanbul, Turkey, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, even a minor amount of weed in Turkey or the United Arab Emirates could result in major prison sentences for Bieber.

Weed is highly illegal in both countries. Purchasing, possessing or receiving any drug in Turkey is punishable by up to 1-2 years in federal prison. In specific cases, there is also the option for probation for up to three years. Because Bieber is a celebrity, it's likely that he would receive the latter option.

However, possession of even the smallest amounts of any illegal drug in the United Arab Emirates carries a mandatory four-year prison sentence. In cases of those who were caught trying to selling drugs, the death penalty has been issued in the past.

Luckily for Bieber, drug laws in both Finland and Russia are slightly more relaxed. In Russia, possession of up to 6 weed (dry weight) of cannabis or 2 grams of hashish is punishable by fine, but anything more than this is considered to be possessed with the intent to distribute and typically results in a prison term. Possession of weed is also illegal in Finland, but is typically punished through a fine.

Bieber's tour bus was raided on Wednesday afternoon outside of a hotel in Stockholm after cops reported a "strong smell" of marijuana around the vehicle. Police found a small amount of "narcotics" on the floor of the bus, but no arrests were made and no charges were filed because the bus was empty at the time of the police raid.

The European leg of his tour has been marred with controversy after he attacked a photographer in London, bizarrely walked around the city in a gas mask and wrote in the guestbook of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam that he hoped Frank "would have been a Belieber."
