Jane Fonda cements Her Legacy In Hollywood By Leaving Prints At Famed Chinese Theater

On Sunday Oscar winner Jane Fonda will leave her hand and foot prints in the cement slab next to her father's at Hollywood's Chinese Theater.

The famed theater is home to the imprints of dozens of Hollywood's elite from Joan Crawford to Dick Van Dyke and Clint Eastwood. Whoopi Goldberg, Robert Downey Jr. and Jennifer Aniston all have squares at the famous theater.

Jane Fonda's imprint ceremony will be held on Sunday and according to the Christian Science Monitor the 74-year-old actress might shed a few tears.

"I am very, very excited," CSMonitor.com says Fonda told reporters. "I thought probably I would die and this would never happen. I'm just really thrilled that it actually is happening and not only that, but I get to put my hand and footprints right next to my father. ... I'm just so happy I'll probably cry."

Jane Fonda returned to acting in 2005 after a 15-year break. Her career has since been on the fast track and the actress has no intention of slowing down.

CSMonitor.com says Fonda also told reporters, "I'd love to have a television series of my own. I'm hoping that might happen."

Fonda was a guest star on the HBO series The Newsroom. She played Leona Lansing the CEO of "Atlantis World Media." In the show Fonda's character is looking for a reason to fire the station's lead news anchor. During the season finale Fonda's character is backed into a corner and forced to let the anchor stay.

During her imprint ceremony Jane Fonda will also show the film she made with her father in 1981, "On Golden Pond."

In another interview CSMonitor.com says Fonda is excited about her ceremony and, "It's coming at a very happy time in my life, and making it even happier."
