'Queen of K-Pop' BoA to Return to Japan Oricon with New Single

Artist BoA, the queen of Oricon, will make a comeback in Japan with a new single this June.

Since December of 2011 when she released her 10-year anniversary DVD single "Milestone," it is BoA's first original single in 18 months. Though she released a single "Only One" back in February, it was simply a Japanese version of a song that had already been put forth in Korea in 2012. With her new single set to come out soon, the fans are now playing the waiting game in high hopes and anticipation.

Debuting in Japan in 2012, Boa has hit over 10 million record sales in during her career. Starting from her first regular Japanese album in 2002, Boa ranked number one on Oricon eight consecutive times until her 2009's Best Album Best & U.S.A. She also holds the record as the first Korean artist to top Oricon charts. But as she shifted gears to make a move to the U.S. market in 2009, BoA's activities have been all but missing since then. With her new single, Boa hopes to bring things back to where they were.

On May 18, BoA will hold a concert 'BoA Special Live 2013 - Here I Am' in Tai Pei, Taiwan, followed by two more in Daegu and Busan on the 25th and June1. From there on, BoA will embark on promotional work for her new single.

BoA is known as the star of Asia and is signed under SM Entertainment. She debuted at a young age and has been in the industry for most of her life.

She has also sold over 10 million records throughout her entire music career.

She recently was a judge for 2 seasons of "K-Pop Star" as well and revealed her talent as a judge and a mentor.
