Miami Cop Fired 8 Times, Could Be Fired For No. 9; Sgt. German Bosque Could Be Fired Once Again By Miami Police Force

Miami cop Sgt. German Bosque has been fired 8 times and could be let go for firing No. 9. CBS4 Miami reports the incompetent cop has been charged with leaving his assault weapon with his girlfriend's father, a trained security guard, while on an eight-day leave. The Opa-locka police department, who Bosque is currently employed with, is now seeking to have him fired for violating department policy that an officer's weapon should be with him at all times.

The case to have Miami cop Bosque fired was presented in front of an arbitration officer on Wednesday, which could lead to him being fired for the 9th time. He has already been fired by two other departments in Florida and holds the distinction for being the most fined, fired and disciplined officer in the state.

"We're here on a very simple matter. It's going to be up to the arbitrator. We think what the officer did was wrong," said City Attorney Joe Geller.

Bosque denies the accusations and said he will defend himself in court.

"It's allegations. Allegations are not convictions," said Bosque's union-provided attorney, Andrew Axelrad. "We have a system in place, and that system is a fair system."

The Miami Herald reported that many of the other actions that have resulted in Bosque being fired have been far more questionable than his recent blunder, though. The reasons for his previous firings include busting the skull of a handcuffed suspect, beating juveniles, having dope and alcohol in his squad car, ripping off suspects, falsifying reports, participating in an unauthorized chase where four people were killed, and calling in sick when he was really on vacation in Cancun.

However, Bosque considers himself to be an outstanding officer who enjoys what he does for a living.

"I love serving the community. I love what I do for a living, and I'm very proud," he said.
