Kiera Knightley Marries James Righton In France; Low Key Wedding A Such A Secret That In Laws Didn't Know![VIDEO]

Kiera Knightley marries rocker beau of 15 months, James Richton, in France this weekend with a secret low-key affair.

Keira Knightley's wedding and marriage details to James Richton were the source of rumors for several weeks. The pair were attempting to keep it such a secret that Kiera only told her in-laws the day before!

James' dad Nicholas told The Sun: "We were only told to turn up the night before."

And now it's officially confirmed: Keira Knightley and James Righton tied the knot  in Mazan, France, near Marseilles, on Saturday.

Knightley and Righton, the keyboardist for indie band The Klaxons, got engaged nearly a year ago after about 15 months of dating. They've kept their wedding plans private and their affection for each other quite public. They always seemed very in love, kissing and hugging at every opportunity.

You have to be a resident in France for two months to get married there and that's what they did. Knightley has been staying in France with her hubby, with both flying overseas for work as needed to get around local laws.

The private ceremony at the town hall in Mazan had only 11 guests present. Just selected family members and friends attended.

Considering Kiera has been the face of Coco Mademoiselle and she recently played Coco Chanel in a movie, it was no surprise that she wore Chanel to her own wedding.  The actress, 28, wore a recycled Chanel knee-length ballet-style white dress with a tulle skirt and tight-fitting top, a fitted white Chanel jacket, and ballet flats. Small flowers were intertwined in her dark hair.

James Righton, 29, keyboardist for the band The Klaxons, wore a navy blue suit with a baby-blue tie.

The 10 minute long ceremony was conducted in French by the town mayor, Aime Navello. It was then translated into English by an official. Navello surprisingly neven heard of the couple. "'The first I heard of the marriage was a couple of days ago when someone in my town hall who knew Keira took a message which asked for complete secrecy. I kept my word and didn't even inform any of my 27 town councilors," Navello said.

Navello added "Normally I know most of the couples I marrybut I haven't heard of Keira, nor for that matter James. Keira was a charming bride, very modest and simple in her attitude, as was James. I got the impression that it was a very moving experience for both of them."

The tiny size of the ceremony might be a bit of a shocker, but for Knightley, it makes sense. The actress told Ellen DeGeneres recently that she was never the kind of girl who had elaborate dreams of a "fantasy wedding," saying, "I don't get what the big deal is. You say, 'I do,' 'I do.' You drink a bit."

Still, after the ceremony in the town hall, they celebrated with a few more people at Knightley's mother's home, which is just outside of town. About 50 people attended the reception, reportedly including Sienna Miller and Karl Lagerfeld, and Righton's band performed. It was held in a tent surrounded by centuries-old vineyards.
