BlackBerry R10 Spec Leak: Budget Phone To Run BlackBerry 10, Feature QWERTY Keyboard, Non-Removable Battery [PHOTO]

The design of the BlackBerry R10, part of the next wave of its devices, has leaked online. BlackBerry recently debuted one touchscreen phone and one keyboard phone running BlackBerry 10 software, aiming at the high-end market. However, the leaked BlackBerry R10 design and specs lead to a different direction - the budget market.

Images and specs of the 'BlackBerry R10' were leaked over a Chinese website this weekend. Although the original images have been removed, they were quickly re-posted around the Internet.

The leaked photos and specs reveal a low-budget BlackBerry phone that runs the '10' software with a QWERTY keyboard. The R10 appears to be the successor to the BlackBerry Curve phones, Mashable reported.

The BlackBerry R10's keyboard is straight, without metallic trim between rows of keys - saving space and money. The screen is a 3.1-inch square with a 720x720 display.

There appears to be a 5-megapixel camera in the back of the R10. The leak also listed 8GB of storage and 2GB of ram. CPU information hasn't been released.

The Chinese site said the non-removable battery retains 1800 milliamp-hours of energy.

The BlackBerry R10 is expected to launch in the third quarter at $300-$400 without subsidies or a contract, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

BlackBerry representatives haven't yet responded to requests for comment on the leak, according to Mashable. However, with rumors of a low-price iPhone being soon released, the R10 would be a good competitor in the budget phone market.

BlackBerry could reveal the official R10 as soon as next week's BlackBerry Live developer conference in Orlando, Florida.
