Bill Clinton Tried And Failed To Broker Led Zeppelin Reunion For Sandy Benefit; Robert Plant Restraining Order [VIDEO]

Bill Clinton tried and failed to broker the band Led Zeppelin to reunite for the Sandy Benefit concert last year. The news comes at the same time of Robert Plant restraining order release.

On the CBS "60 Minutes Overtime" webcast, David Saltzman of the Robin Hood Foundation and film tycoon and Democratic financial donor Harvey Weinstein recruited former president Bill Clinton to broker a Led Zeppelin reunion with surviving members Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page for last year's benefit concert in New York for victims of Superstorm Sandy.  The band declined the offer.

Bill Clinton approached Led Zeppelin In Washington, where the three band members had gathered for the Kennedy Center Honors gala in early December, days before the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief. The rock band snubbed the ex president's requests.

While Led Zeppelin rejected the invite, British Band The Rolling Stones played at the benefit to come to the Hurricane Sandy's victims aid.

Led Zeppelin last played publicly at a one-night reunion in London in 2007, with Jason Bonham filling in on drums for his late father, John Bonham. Page and Jones were willing to tour afterward, but Plant was disinterested. Page and Jones considered finding a replacement but eventually ditched their plans.  Plant suggested in February that he'd be open to a reunion next year.

Whole Lotta Love? More like a Whole Lotta Nothing! Fans are disappointed of their lack of generosity to Sandy's victims.

The news of the insult towards America's 46th President comes at the same time that word spread that Robert Plant has taken out a temporary restraining order against a fan.

The singer has been harassed for the past three years by a delusional, love-struck fan, named Alysson Billings, who believes she is in a relationship with Plant despite the pair having never met.

Plant is said to have taken out the temporary restraining order as he fears for his safety. Plant says Billings sent him hotel keys, flowers, random packages and has appeared at his concerts all over the world.

Check out Led Zeppelin being honored at The Kennedy Center Gala.
