Chris Brown And Rihanna Officially Split; Brown Confirms Breakup, Spotted With Karrueche Tran

Hollywood's most infamous on-again, off-again couple has split up... but this time, it's for good. During an interview over the weekend with an Australian radio station, Chris Brown confirmed that he and Rihanna have split. Brown said his split with Rihanna was necessary because he needs to focus on being "the best Chris Brown I can be." (Here's hoping this includes ceasing all Twitter rants, physical altercations and homophobic remarks...).

Last Friday, Brown was was spotted celebrating his birthday over the weekend at a Hollywood nightclub sans Rihanna, but with ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran in tow. Brown infamously juggled both Tran and Rihanna last fall, but made the decision to dump Tran in the end.

Brown decided that their volatile relationship couldn't go any further because he "can't be focused on wife-ing someone that young." Rihanna has never publicly indicated that she was looking to marry Brown in the immediate future. In the last 12 months, she's had a string of well-documented partying incidents and photos of her smoking pot.

"I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thang, she on the road. It's always gonna be love. I'm a grown man, just gotta fast forward," explained Brown. The news will certainly come as a relief to Breezy's dad, who confirmed in an interview last week that he didn't want his son to continue dating Rihanna, stating that he preferred his previous ex-girlfriends in Tran and singer Jordin Sparks.

Brown began dating Rihanna in 2008. In 2009, he was involved in a domestic violence case for assaulting her. After media speculation throughout 2012 that they were rekindling their romance, they confirmed that they were back together last summer.
