Mario Machado, “Scarface” Actor and Former News Anchor, Dies at 78 [VIDEO]

Los Angeles television news anchor and actor, Mario Machado, has died. He also appeared in movies such as "Scarface" and "Rocky III." He was 78.

Machado is of Chinese and Portuguese descent and was LA's first Asian-American newscaster in the 1960s and 1970s. For decades, he worked as a newsman, producer, TV show host, and soccer commentator. He worked at television stations KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV.

Machado also played a newsman in TV shows and films, including the "Robocop" movies and "Oh, God!"

His daughter Michelle told the Los Angeles Times that Machado died Saturday from complications of pneumonia at a Los Angeles convalescent facility.
