‘Tokyo Ghoul: Re’ Chapter 71 Spoilers; Furuta Lives! Touka Fights Arima To The Death!
Chapter 70 of the popular supernatural/horror manga series "Tokyo Ghoul: Re" is already available for online reading at Manga Park. The chapter continues the exciting confrontation between the investigators and personnel and CCG against the Aogiri Tree. Before any speculations on what could possibly happen in the upcoming chapters, here's a brief recap on the latest events in the manga.
Ken Kaneki and Hinami are looking for a way out of Cochlea when they encountered Furuta. The CCG investigator tried to stop the duo by attacking Ken but was immediately subdued not only by the attacks of Ken Kaneki but also Hinami's kagune. Hinami's attack effectively ended Furuta which allowed them to leave.
On the other hand, Aogiri Tree continues their attack at Cochlea with the intent of reaching the control room in order to open the gates and doors at will. However, Aogiri Tree's Touka and Yomo were stopped by Arima who has been very successful in protecting Cochlea against different ghouls. After a brief recollection of the relationship of Touka and Yomo, the latter saved the former from a direct attack by Arima. The chapter ends with Yomo getting injured which could lead to fatal consequences.
The confrontation of Furuta and Kaneki was faster than originally thought given the power of Hinami to effectively kill anyone with her kagune. The status of Yomo, after blocking an attack from Arima is uncertain although it is likely that he will meet his end in the coming chapters. User devon619 on reddit forum speculates on the situation of Yomo, "well, considering most characters die after an info dump or flashback in this manga, it is likely he won't survive. I mean, what is going to stop Arima from finishing him right now? It would take a random SSS rated ghoul showing up just to slow him down." On the other hand, Desin24 of Manga Helpers forum speculates on the fate of Furuta as his death is considered too soon, "I'm pretty sure Furuta is faking it, he knew he was getting taped by Eto and probably saw Kaneki's actions coming too."
