Mr. Rogers Biopic To Be Produced

Mr. Rogers Biopic: a film exploring the life of the beloved children's television host Fred Rogers is reportedly in the pipeline.

The spec script for the Mr. Rogers biopic, which has a working title of "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood," was written by Alexis Jolly. Jolly is a staff writer for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and recently sold the script to Treehouse Pictures, according to Deadline. Details about the story are being withheld at the present time, but producer Justin Nappi said in a statement that they are excited to be working on the project.

"Fred Rogers was such an inspirational man for so many people. His keen ability to find the good in anyone, or anything, will make for a truly inspiring cinematic experience," Nappi told press. "In literally shaping the world around him to fit into his own unique perspective, he created what is arguably the most influential American children's television show of all time."

Fred Rogers hosted his PBS children's' show "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" from 1968 to 2001. He passed away in 2003. Before hosting the show, Rogers was a Presbyterian minister. His show received four Emmys and a Lifetime Achievement Emmy. In 2010, a documentary entitled "Mister Rogers & Me" aired on PBS.
