Demi Lovato Unveils New Blonde Hairstyle

Demi Lovato unveils another new look. Most recently brunette, the 20-year-old showed off her new blonde, shoulder-length, sleek hairstyle, while receiving an award for her work in support of children with mental health issues.

Actress and "Heart Attack" singer Demi Lovato is known for changing up hair color and style. A natural brunette, Demi has tried bleach-blonde, black, red, blue, and pink hair, all in a few short months. Demi was a brunette in February, a blonde last September, and had pink hair last July. It is unlikely her new blonde hairdo is a permanent change.

'I love changing my hair a lot - I think it's fun,' Lovato told Allure.com in an August 2012 interview.

Demi looked prim and proper in a white lace dress and blazer as she accepted her award from U.S. Secretary of Health Kathleen Sebelius on behalf of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration.

Demi was also named the co-chair of the National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day at the event in Washington DC.

The X-Factor judge talked about her own struggle at the mental health awareness event. The former Disney star spent three months in rehab in 2010 when she learned that she was bipolar and was treated for an eating disorder and cutting.

Demi said during that tough period in her life, she worried about the consequences of getting help and other people's reaction to her disorder.

"You're constantly asking yourself, 'What will happen if people know my diagnosis?" she explained. "For me, it was more complicated. 'Would I lose my career, doing what I love?' ... I pretended for a long time to be OK so that I could continue to work. And that's why I'm here today, to tell young people who are asking themselves those questions, uncertain of what lies ahead, that they are not alone."
