Mariah Carey Drops Randy Jackson As Co-Manager

Randy Jackson, veteran "American Idol" judge and record producer, is no longer co-managing the pop-diva sensation, Mariah Carey.

Jackson has been co-managing Carey since 2011, and was an instrumental part in Carey receiving an $18 million dollar deal as a new "American Idol" judge.

However, the fellow judges seem to be showing no friction or hard feelings on air, and seem to be working well as just friends.

According to Showbiz411, Mariah's reasoning for leaving Jackson is that their schedules were "too hectic."

Jackson and Carey met back in the 1990s while Jackson was working as the vice president of the A&R department at Columbia records. Carey was signed to Columbia Records from 1988 to 2001.

Since then, Jackson has co-written, produced and played bass for many songs with Carey. Jackson has also collaborated on many of Mariah's albums including Charmbracelet, The Emancipation of Mimi, and Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.

It is rumored that Carey recently signed with former RCA Records executive Bruce Flohr at Red Light Management, which represents the Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and Alicia Keys. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Red Light would neither confirm nor deny this rumor.

Carey released her new single "Beautiful" this week from her upcoming album, which features Grammy winning artist Miguel. She will debut the music video of "Beautiful" on "American Idol" tonight, and it is rumored that the last three "Idol" finalists, Angie Miller, Candice Glover and Kree Harrison, will sing background vocals. However, this has not been confirmed.

The three finalists were taped singing background vocals for the pop diva last week in the recording studio, but it is not known if that song will make the final cut.

It is unknown if Jackson will collaborate with Carey on future endeavors, as he has in the past. Until then, the two can be seen at the judges table during the last few weeks of season 12 of "American Idol."
