iPhone 6 Already In UK Mobile Carrier's Computer Systems, Hinting At Summer Production, Fall Release Date

New rumors of the iPhone 6 surfaced today. A UK mobile carrier apparently already has the new iPhone listed in its computer system, entered as "4G iPhone 6." This clears up the speculation over whether Apple's new iPhone would release as the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S and hints at an early release date for the new iPhone.

A Vodafone employee allegedly took a photo of the computer system showing the iPhone 6's entry, mixed in with plans and other device listings, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

Stuff leaked the photo and Vodafone name, but quickly took down the original image and carrier name. The updated photo blurs some other parts of the photograph, still showing a listing for the iPhone 6.

Vodafone may not actually have advance information on the iPhone 6, however. Usually when information leaks from a carrier, phones and plans aren't shown on the same screen. In addition, the leaked iPhone 6 pgoto could be a product listing for the iPhone 5, which is the 6th iPhone Apple has produced.

Another explanation for the photo is that Vodafone is holding a place for the next iPhone, which should have the name iPhone 6 because it is more frequently searched than iPhone 5S, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

Some think the iPhone 5S is still more likely to make an appearance in 2013 than the iPhone 6, despite rumors to the contrary and the leaked photo.

After the iPhone 4, Apple focused on putting out a more streamlined iPhone with better software, leading to the iPhone 4S. Experts say the next iPhone 5S will be similar - improving upon the iPhone 5 specs and design. Odds are, the iPhone 6 won't appear until summer 2014.

Multiple sources have claimed that Apple is getting ready to launch an iPhone with a slimmer body than the iPhone 5. Production could start as early as June and July, with a September announcement and late fall release of the 5S.

Rumors have also suggested an improved camera and processor on the iPhone 5S. It would run the new iOS 7, which Apple is planning to reveal at June's WWDC.

One of the most exciting features allegedly in development for either the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 is the built-in fingerprint recognition software. The fingerprint reader could become essential in making mobile payments and increasing security.

Another exciting development is the low-cost iPhone expected to release soon, nicknamed the "iPhone mini." If the budget iPhone were introduced, it would likely get rid of the iPhone's signature metal casing in favor of plastic. In addition, the low-price option could come in different colors, in addition to the traditional white and black.

These rumors about the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S will likely be clarified at the Apple Worldwide Developer's conference in June.
