Nokia Lumia 928 Officially Revealed: Verizon To Price Windows Phone At $99, Release Date May 16 [VIDEO, PICS]

The Nokia Lumia 928 has officially been revealed. Verizon announced the Nokia Lumia 928 on May 10. After rumors and teasers abound, especially after the recent Nokia ad in Vanity Fair, Nokia finally announced the release date for the much-anticipated Nokia Lumia 928.

The Windows Phone-operated Luma 928 will be released on May 16 for $99.99 with a two year contract.

The Nokia Lumia features a 4.5-inch AMOLED screen with an 8.7-Megapixel camera. The camera specs include a Carl Zeiss lens and xenon flash. The new Lumia comes in white.

Other features include special camera apps. One such app is Smart Shoot, which allows five pictures to be taken in one shot. Cinemagraph comes with the phone, too, and captures HD video to share in its social network.

Nokia wrote in a blog post that users can leave their DSLR cameras at home, since the xenon flash will greatly improve the quality of photos.

The Nokia Lumia 928 also comes with Panorama Mode, according to CNET, with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The new Lumia will also support wireless charging.

Like other Verizon devices, the Lumia 928 will be connected to the Verizon 4G LTE network for fast data sharing. Verizon promises that the phone will be "Global Ready," which means users can insert GSM SIM cards so they can use their cell phones worldwide.

The phone's design has a very slim profile and super sharp lines. Nokia confirmed to CNET that the 928's body would be plastic, not the aluminum of higher-end phones.

Nokia will hold an event in London on Tuesday, where it will reveal the next development in its Lumia lineup.
