Fired For Chicken-Killing Art From April Leads To Termination Of Sculpting Instructor Of 32 Years

An instructor was fired for chicken-killing art at the Alberta College of Art and Design Wednesday.

A student reportedly killed a chicken in the cafeteria that was then used for the art that then led to Gord Fergusion to be fired for chicken-killing art.

Gord Ferguson confirmed Wednesday that he was let go following the April 18 incident where one of his students killed and decapitated a chicken as part of a demonstration, according to Metro News. It is now trending that an instructor was fired for chicken-killing art almost a month after the chicken was killed.

At the time, police said the student killed the animal as part of an assignment where he was to perform and film a public protest, according to Metro News.

Ferguson was a sculpture instructor for 32 years at Albert College of Art and Design and told the news outlet that he wasn't willing to comment further and was assessing his next course of action.

Spokesperson Alex Middleton said the school was unable to provide comment as well.

"ACAD followed due process in a timely and thorough matter and a decision has been made but as it's a personnel issue, we are unable to comment at this time," he said.
