Sergio Garcia Rips Tiger Woods For Poor Sportsmanship At The TPC - Players Championship

Golf is generally not a sport filled with on-course arguments or controversy between the players but at the TPC Sawgrass tournament, to be finalized today, Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia, two of the sports' greatest players, are not saying nice things about each other.

The leaderboard for the Players Championship 2013 is crowded with big names at the PGA golf tournament in Ponte Verda Beach, Florida but it's Woods and Garcia who are getting all the headlines.

The third round was finished this morning and the final round has Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia along with David Lingmerth tied at eleven under par (-11) at the top of the leaderboard.

The story of Saturday was the spat between Tiger and Sergio and it all started after fans were cheering a club selection by Tiger, right when Sergio was ready to hit his shot.

Garcia ripped Woods for the odd situation that happened on the par-5 second hole and the animosity has carried over to Sunday.

During round three on the second hole, Sergio was standing over his ball getting ready to strike his golf ball when Woods (unable to see Garcia because of the spectators surrounding him) pulled a 5-wood from his bag and fans cheered his club selection.

That distracted Garcia and he backed off his shot and blamed Tiger for interrupting.

TV replays showed Garcia was not in his backswing when Woods pulled his club, but Sergio was furious.

Plus, he doesn't really like Tiger all that well.

"Obviously, (Sergio) doesn't know all the facts," Woods told ESPN after the round. "The marshal said he already hit and I pulled the 5-wood and hit."

Woods added: " ... It's not really surprising he was complaining about something."

Those looking for more fireworks on the golf course may be disappointed, Woods and Garcia will not be paired in the same group on Sunday during the final round of the Players Championship.

Garcia and Lingmerth will play in the final pairing, while Woods is paired with Casey Wittenberg.

"He's not my favorite guy to play with. He's not the nicest guy on Tour. So it will good for both us not to play together again," Garcia said of Woods after finishing his third round.

"It doesn't matter," Woods told ESPN. "I'm tied for the lead. I'm right there and I'm playing well. I'm going to go back to the hotel, get some rest and get back at it in the afternoon."
