The Least-Safe Cities In The U.S. Include Memphis And New Orleans: What Other Cities Top The List And Who Actually Feels Safe?
The least-safe cities in the U.S. according to a recent poll by Gallup includes Memphis at the top city that is most feared to walk alone during the night time.
What were the other least-safe cities in the U.S.? Near the top with Memphis was New Orleans, which is a party-city, but according to this poll, it might not be safe to walk alone because it landed at number two on the least-safe cities in the U.S. list.
Minnesota led the way with 80 % of its residents that felt safe walking alone at night.
The data is based on Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index data collected throughout 2012. Each night, Gallup asked Americans whether they "feel safe walking alone at night in the city or area where you live?" Gallup compiled the data for residents of the 50 most populous metropolitan statistical areas (MSA) and weighted each sample to make sure it was demographically representative of that MSA.
Gallup asked: "Do you feel safe walking alone at night in the city or area where you live?"
