IU Apologizes for Drama 'Best Lee Soon Shin' Title Crisis, 'I Expected It'

IU's apology has been gaining attention online.

IU, who is currently playing the lead role in the KBS drama, "Best Lee Soon Shin," made an apology about the name of the drama.

During the press conference for the drama today, she apologized for the name of the drama.

IU stated, "The director did not mean to use Lee Soon Shin's name in a negative manner. I did expect however for people to talk about the name. I just didn't know that this many people would be offended by it. I do apologize for it."

Internet users commented, "IU did expect this to happen too, I guess", "She must have been sad about this crisis" and "She finally did apologize about it."

There were many criticisms about the name of the drama as Lee Soon Shin was a commander who was admired for his victory against the Japanese navy during the Imjin War.
