Macklemore Upset That Oklahoma City Thunder Is Using Hit Song 'Can't Hold Us' To Pump Up Crowd [Video]

Seattle rapper, Macklemore, is upset after finding out the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team is using his song with Ryan Lewis, "Can't Hold Us," to pump up the crowd at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Oklahoma City Thunder used to be the Seattle Supersonics before owner, Clay Bennett, famously moved the team to Oklahoma City where they became NBA title contenders within a couple years.

The move left Seattle residents without their beloved professional basketball team, and Macklemore has been outspoken in his criticism about the move, as have a host of other famous Seattle residents.

That backdrop only adds more fuel to the fire for Macklemore, the Seattle rapper whose song with Ryan Lewis, "Can't Hold Us," is number 1 on the Billboard charts.

King 5 news in Seattle first reported that Macklemore took to his Twitter page to rage against the Oklahoma City Thunder for using "Can't Hold Us" at their Chesapeake Energy Arena as a way to pump up the crowd.

Macklemore tweeted: "OH HELL NO!" in response to a fan's tweet alerting him to the issue.

The song is the second by Macklemore to hit number 1 on the Billboard charts, and it's been featured in commercials for ESPN Game Day and Microsoft Outlook. Former Seattle Supersonics basketball player, Detlef Schrempf, responded to Macklemore and King5Seattle by tweeting "that's ours and not okc!" Macklemore retweeted Schrempf's tweet and called it "the best tweet of the day."

Macklemore is plugged into the Seattle sports team, which is currently in the midst of negotiations for the Sacramento Kings team, which may or may not move to Seattle.

Macklemore's also written and performed songs about Seattle sports before, recording "My Oh My" as a tribute to former Seattle Mariners announcer, Dave Neihaus.

Maklemore, real name Ben Haggerty, will team up with Ryan Lewis to perform their hit "Can't Hold Us" and other songs during a May 27 show at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London.
