[VIDEO] Bill Gates Gets Teary While Talking About Final Meeting With Steve Jobs, Envies Jobs' "Sense Of Design" Most

Bill Gates got teary-eyed when talking about his final meeting with Steve Jobs in new footage. [WATCH VIDEO BELOW]. CBS News has released some previously unaired footage taken from a 60 Minutes interview with Bill Gates. The bulk of the interview, during which Gates is interviewed by Charlie Rose, aired earlier in the week. The newly released footage features Gates getting teary when talking about the last time he saw Steve Jobs, who was very sick. He also said he envied Jobs' sense of design most.

Bill Gates, the former Microsoft head and founder, tells Rose that the now-deceased Apple CEO and founder Steve Jobs didn't seem bitter or angry about his illness - just disappointed by not being able to do everything he'd wanted to, like impact education more. "Thinking about your potential [while dying] isn't very constructive," said Gates. But he didn't have too much regret - Jobs' perspective was mostly "forward looking" rather than melancholic, Gates said.

"When he was sick I got to go down and spend time with him," Gates told Rose. The two leaders talked about a wide range of different subjects, and Gates got teary remembering their meeting.

Gates tells Charlie Rose that in his last meeting with Steve Jobs, the two talked about the past and "what we'd learned", as well as their families. "He was not being melancholy, it was very forward looking," Gates said.

When Charlie Rose asks what Jobs had that Gates wishes he had, Gates replies, without hesitation, "His sense of design."

Steve Jobs also showed Bill Gates plans for a yacht that he was having built and was excited about. Tragically, he died before it was finished.

Rose said about the unique relationship between Jobs and Gates, "They were competitors and they also respected each other, and at the same time they understood each other's flaws," he said. "But Bill can't look to many people and say 'they've achieved as much as I have.'"
