Tim Tebow Offered Backup Position For Philadelphia Soul In The Arena Football League

Former Bronco's, quarterback, Tim Tebow, has fallen pretty hard in the past couple seasons.

After being cut from the Broncos to make room for powerhouse quarterback, Peyton Manning, and then picked up by the Jets as a second string option, only to be cut at the end of the season, Tim Tebow finds himself with a job offer with the Philadelphia Soul, as a backup.

Ron Jaworski, the owner of the Philadelphia Soul, wants Tebow to play for the Arena Football League, but not as first string. They have made it clear that the team would still want Dan Raudabaugh to remain as the team's starting quaterback.

"One [criticism] of Tebow is that he is slow and methodical," Jaworski said. "He would be forced to quicken it up in this league and it would be good training for him. You learn a lot in the league. It's about processing information and getting the ball out...or you get whacked."

But will the former Heisman winner be willing to step down from the NFL to go play in an Arena League? And is such a drastic jump backward even worth it to Tebow?

Tebow is currently an unrestricted free agent after being released in 2013.

Tebow played football for the University of Florida, and became the starting quarterback his sophomore year in 2007, winning the Heisman Trophy that same year.

During his success, Tebow was also chosen by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. With the Bronco's, Tebow became the full-time starting quaterback in the sixth game of their 2010 season, but was traded during the offseason when Petyon Manning became a free agent.

Picked up by the New York Jets, as a second string quarter back, Tebow has yet again found himself as a free agent when the Jets released Tebow in 2013 after aquiring quarterback, Geno Smith.
