Rachel McAdams to Time Travel Again

Rachel McAdams is one of those actresses who is so completely captivating in any role she plays, that it is hard to gage what she is actually like, off-camera. Though we still don't have a lot of insight into Rachel McAdams' personal life, we do know that she is a fan of movies involving time travel. It's been four years since the ravishing star played the wife of a time traveling Eric Bana in "The Time Traveler's Wife," and now, McAdams will be the weakness of another man in the UK film, "About Time."

Played by "Harry Potter's" Domhnall Gleeson, Tim Lake discovers he can travel in time after his father, played by Billy Nighy, tells him of his unique genetic inheritance. Though he cannot use his gift to change history, he can use it to alter events in his own life. Moving from the Cornwall coast to London to train as a lawyer, Tim finally meets the gorgeous but insecure Mary (Rachel McAdams). They fall in love and pursue a charming romance, as all fateful couples do, but then, disaster strikes, and an unfortunate time-travel incident means he's never met her at all. He uses time travel to meet his love over and over again until he finally wins her over. Tim then uses his power to create the perfect romantic proposal, to save his wedding from the worst best-man speeches, to save his best friend from professional disaster and to get his pregnant wife to the hospital in time for the birth of their daughter, despite a nasty traffic jam outside Abbey Road.

The problem with time travel is that it can't stop destiny from happening. And despite Tim's attempts to change everything to a perfect scene, even his magic is not impervious to life's tragedies that so many are unfairly afflicted by. Any great gift can also be dangerous.

Directed by "Love Actually's" Richard Curtis, "About Time" debuts September 6 in the U.K. and November 1st in the U.S.
