92 Arrested in Prostition Sting in Florida, Newly Wedded, Mohammed Ahmed, Husband Included in Arrests

Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested 92 people during the prostitution sting in Florida in only four days last week. The sting was set up at a local hotel in Florida, authorities say.

In total, 12 pimps, 39 prostitutes and 39 johns were arrested for prostitution during the four-day sting. Two other people were arrested for accompanying the johns to the undercover location, according to Fox News.

"Prostitution is illegal, and those who commit or who derive proceeds from this crime in Polk County can expect to go to jail ... Whether it is on the street or online, prostitution is illegal and we will continue to investigate and arrest those involved," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Also arrested was a 45-year old youth minister, Samuel Yoon, and a man who was in Florida for his honeymoon.

Mohammed Ahmed, 21, was allegedly attempting to hire a prostitute to service himself. According to investigators, Mohammed answered an online ad posted by an undercover detective posing as a hooker.

His newly wed wife became worried of his whereabouts after not returning to their room at the Omni Hotel in Champions Gate and called the police to report her husband as missing. The police officer had the unfortunate task of informing Ahmed's wife that Mohammed was not missing, but actually arrested for attempting to solicit a prostitute and for possession of marijuana.

"The negative social costs of prostitution hurt families, children, and communities, including the spreading of infectious diseases," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. "The nexus between prostitution and other crime, such as illegal drugs, violence against women, and human trafficking, is a real problem."

Judd seems to be dead-on in his assertions that prostitution hurts families, especially when it comes to Mohammed Ahmed and his newly wed (and soon to be divorced?) wife.
