Taylor Swift’s Fan Arrested For Trespassing On Eve Of Swift’s ‘New Girl’ Cameo; Singer Talks To Billboard About “Red”
Taylor Swift's fan was arrested for trespassing on the "Red" singer's Rhode Island beach home. E! News reported that the Westerly Police Department arrested a 22-year-old male walking on a private road near Taylor Swift's Rhode Island home early on Wednesday morning.
The young man was charged with trespassing on Taylor Swift's property and will have to appear in court on May 24. Swift's fan is allegedly still in police custody.
Some reports initially claimed that the fan swam up to Swift's mansion on the coast. The police allegedly spotted a man getting out of the ocean, 1 mile from Swift's home. The reports also say the man intended to meet Taylor Swift, but a police spokesperson couldn't confirm that report to E! The spokesperson added, "There is a zero policy for trespassers."
In happier news for the country-pop star, Swift made an appearance on Fox's New Girl last night. Swift appeared in the season finale's wedding scene. Star Zooey Deschanel enjoyed working with Taylor, and said the singer is "super-funny," "really smart," and "very professional."
New Girl co-star Max Greenfield also only had great things to say. He wrote that Swift is "a magical gem of a human," "a butterfly flying through the summer sky," and "a giant star just in every aspect of life."
But fans don't have to worry that Swift is leaving music for acting forever; Swift is scheduled to perform at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19.
In an interview with Billboard, Swift talked about her music and some highlights of releasing "Red" last year. Swift said of the album, "That was such an unbelievable feeling, knowing that many people wanted to hear about the last two years of my life...having it be so celebrated by my fans was almost an indescribable feeling of joy and relief."
Swift is up for 11 Billboard Music awards in categories including Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Female Artist, and Top Hot 100 Artist.
