Pat Robertson's Advice To Cheated Viewer Sparks Outrage; Robertson Tells Woman That It's Her Fault For Not Creating 'Enticing' Home Life

Is cheating a woman's fault? It is if you're Pat Robertson. Robertson, the host of The 700 Club has ignited controversy after telling a female viewer whose husband cheated on her that it was essentially her fault. Robertson said to the wife that it was her job to create an enticing home environment that doesn't make him want to stray out for other women. The cheated woman said in the letter that despite attending counseling together, she's found it difficult to forgive him.

Robertson imparted even further wisdom on the cheated woman by telling her not to address the subject around her husband. However, The 700 Club host Robertson did acknowledge to the woman who wrote to him that forgiveness is "difficult" and spousal infidelity is "one of the ultimate betrayals."

"Here's the secret: Stop talking the cheating. He cheated on you, well, he's a man," said Robertson. "Does he provide a home for you to live in? Does he provide food for you to eat? Does he provide clothes for you to wear? Is he nice to the children... Is he handsome?"

Robertson also said that cheating and wandering eyes are simply part of nature and impossible for her to avoid.

"Males have a tendency to wander a little bit," Robertson said. "What you want to do is make a home so wonderful that he doesn't want to wander" or give in to the "salacious" magazine pictures and Internet filled with porn.

This is not the first piece of questionable relationship advice that Robertson has given. Last January, he told viewers that "awful-looking women" can cause marriages to lose their spark. In 2010, he advised a woman whose husband flirted with other women to ignore it and simply make herself look as attractive as possible. He also once told a husband upset that his wife didn't respect him that he could always just "become a Muslim and you could beat her."
