Hairstylist Chris McMillan Completely High When He Created Jennifer Aniston's "The Rachel"

"The Rachel", Jennifer Aniston's "Friends" haircut, apparently was invented when Aniston's hairdresser was high on marijuana. Chris McMillan, the hairdresser who invented the much-envied haircut, has just confessed to being stoned in 1994 when he clipped Aniston's bob that spawned the copycat sensation known as "The Rachel".

"I'm 14 years sober, so I feel safe enough to say that," McMillan told press. He says he was completely high when he created the shoulder-length cut that millions of women got in malls in the 90s. He did not detail whether or not Aniston collaborated with him in more than one way, but she's admitted to partaking occasionally.

The two still collaborate on Living Proof, their hair care line. McMillan has cut Aniston's hair for over a decade.

Aniston, 44, who will soon marry Justin Theroux, told press that she'd "only had mullets" before the iconic haircut came to be. She talked about going to get her hair cut in downtown NYC on "Astor Place haircuts when you were a kid and you'd get those crazy, like, long at the front and shaved at the back. Oh, I just learned so many lessons from my youth of what not to do," she said, laughing.

If she wanted someone else's hair, Aniston said,  "I want Gisele's! That's whose hair I want. I say that [to stylist Chris McMillan], and he will then do whatever he wants to do. I also love Kate Moss's hair. It's that rolled out of bed look," said Aniston.

Inspiration comes from on high, they say - and in the case of Jennifer Aniston's iconic "Friends" haircut, it literally did.
