iPhone 6 Release Date 2014; iPhone 5S To Debut This Fall; New iPhone Concept Video Features iPod-Like Design, Widgets [VIDEO]

Although rumors about the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S release date, pricing, and specs have been prominent throughout the tech world recently, most people are talking not about the next iPhone's features, but about the next iPhone's design.

After a concept video of a potential iPhone 6 design in plastic by Ran Avni went viral last week, more designers have been eager to imagine what Apple head product designer Jony Ive is planning, and get their own ideas of the iPhone 6 out there.

One new video features an iPhone with an iPad mini/iPod touch-like design with rounded edges and flat aluminum black. The artist, Jürgen Ulbrich, also incorporated a flat Lock Screen and iOS 7 software featuring widgets. Ulbrich uploaded his vision onto Apple blog Apfellike.com. Check out the video below:

In other iPhone news, iPhone 5S parts have been leaked. Photos of the vibrator, SIM tray and audio control flex cable of the iPhone 5S were featured on Christian Post. Unfortunately, the parts leak doesn't reveal much more than that there will be small changes from the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 are rumored to feature a sapphire-crystal home button to allow for a fingerprint sensor, according to Cult of Mac. Hopefully, this new button, which is scratch-repellant, will fix the most unreliable part of the previous iPhone devices.

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek told investors recently that the iPhone 6 would be available in June 2014.

Last week, rumors circulated that in China, Apple's manufacturers had received parts to begin building the next iPhone. Further fueling rumors, IBTimes reported that Apple recently signed a contract with Sharp in Japan. Sharp will allegedly start building LCD panels for the iPhone 5S in June.

The iPhone 5S is expected to hit stores sometime in the fall - most likely in September of October of 2013.

A new report suggests that the next iPhone would have smarter control features, enabling the device to tell the difference between mere scratches or tap gesturing. Phone Review UK explains that this recent news comes from a new Apple patent that has been approved. The patent also suggests that iOS devices will soon have a new means of new acoustic input - sounds would be transmitted via the device's casing.

Another rumor for the next iPhone is multiple screen size options. Analyst Brian White said, "iPhone 5S buyers could have their choice of screen size. We believe Apple is coming around to the fact that one size per iPhone release does not work for everyone, and offering consumers an option has the potential to expand the company's market share."

More information about the iPhone, iOS 7 and Apple's development plans will likely be revealed at Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference (WWDC) in June.
