Dwyane Wade Prom Surprise: NBA Star Surprises Florida Teen At Her High School Prom [Video & Pic]

The Dwyane Wade prom surprise wasn't going to happen, but despite being in the middle of the NBA playoffs, one girl's Dwyane Wade prom dream came true last night.

The Coral Gables high school teenager, Nicole Muxo, was totally bewildered by the Dwyane Wade prom surprise last night.

The young teen, made a YouTube video a couple weeks ago, asking Dwyane Wade to her senior prom. The video was featured on the local news a couple weeks later, but Muxo never heard back on her Dwyane Wade prom idea.

But the Dwyane Wade prom plan usually would take a back-seat to the NBA playoffs, where Dwyane Wade and his Miami Heat teammates, including NBA MVP LeBron James, are currently awaiting the winner of the New York Knicks - Indiana Pacers series as they prepare for the Eastern Conference Finals starting next week.

But that didn't mean the Dwyane Wade prom surprise wouldn't happen. The Dwyane Wade prom event occurred when he attended the senior prom of the Archbishop Coleman Carroll student, Nicole Muxo, last night, according to the Miami Herald.

Muxo has asked Dwyade Wade to attend multiple events with her before the Dwyane Wade prom video got a lot more local attention on the news.

The Dwayne Wade prom plan came to fruition when he joined Nicole Muxo and her classmates at the West Kendall school after showing up just before 9:30 p.m. at the LaJolla Ballroom in Coral Gables.

In Muxo's Dwyane Wade prom video, she says:

"My senior prom is coming up and I have everything set for a perfect night except for one thing: a perfect date."

Reporters met in front of the school, likely tipped off by Wade's puplicist, telling them about the Dwyane Wade prom surprise to happen.

Said Wade of his impromptu arrival, "She continued to keep going for it - no matter how many times I said I am going to be busy.

Wade told local reporters that Muxo sent him a direct message on Twitter that day saying, "This is the address, this is where I'm going to be just in the case."

Wade said "when I got that, I said, "I won't be doing nothing tomorrow night and I can go and make this a memorable moment for her."

Moments before the Dwyane Wade prom surprise, Wade called Muxo, but didn't tell her he was going to show up.

"And then I got off the phone and walked in. It was kind of cool," Wade said.

Muxo told reporters that she invited Wade because "he's my favorite player and I think he's a positive role model."

Muxo continued, "I was so surprised. I didn't expect it at all."

Muxo actually had a date, Laurent Chaumin, who was a good guy through the Dwyane Wade prom appearance, saying "At least we both know how to dress."

Wade joked to reporters, "I'm the third wheel. I'm like both their dates."

Afterward the Dwyane Wade prom visit, he posted on Twitter: "I had a blast at Prom. Never be 2 scared to ask."

Said Wade's surprised prom date,: "I was so surprised. I didn't expect it at all. I'm going to remember it forever This was the highlight of my senior year."
