Two Warriors Fans Killed By An Alleged Gunman While Leaving The Playoff Game In Oakland

Two Warriors fans killed when attempting to leave the Golden State playoff game Thursday night in Oakland. The two Warriors fans killed due to a gunman shooting and killing them on the freeway.

Authorities told reporters that a gunman opened fire on two men driving home on the freeway in downtown Oakland after watching the Golden State Warriors playoff game after the team was eliminated from the playoffs by the San Antonio Spurs.

The two Warriors fans killed were on Highway 880 around 10:30 p.m. local time, according to the authorities. The Oakland Tribune reported that one of the men was hit by a van after he was ejected from the white 2010 Porsche Panamera when the car hit the center divider.

From what authorities told the San Francisco Chronicle it might have been a planned attack.

"It appears that this definitely was a targeted event from the way the rounds went into the vehicle," California Highway Patrol officer Sam Morgan. No shots were fired from the Porsche, he said.

The Oakland Tribune reports one of the men was hit by a van after he was ejected from the white 2010 Porsche Panamera when the car hit the center divider.

No arrests have been made and the cause of the shooting is under investigation. Both deaths have been deemed homicides.
