Ex-NBA Player Stabbed: Predrag Danilovic Critically Injured After A Fight Ensued At A Cafe In Serbia

Ex-NBA player stabbed during a fight Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia. Predrag Danilovic, former player for the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks is said to be critically injured.

The ex-NBA player stabbed took place in a café, according to Serbian police. Danilovic was seriously injured in an altercation that police told the Associated Press that the reason for the fight is not known yet.

Danilovic is the ex-NBA player stabbed and current general manager with Partizan Belgrade. The team is part of a professional Serbian basketball league. He's been the general manager since 2007.

Doctors told the AP that Danilovic underwent an operation to treat injuries to his abdomen, head and arms.

He played for the same club he manages now for six years throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

In 1992, Danilovic was drafted by the Golden State Warriors, but his rights were traded to the Miami Heat. He continued to play in Europe before making the leap to the NBA. He played only two seasons in the NBA and averaged 12.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

With the Yugoslav national basketball team, Danilović won four European Championships in 1989, 1991, 1995 and 1997. He was also a member of the silver medal winning Yugoslav team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
