Two FBI Agents Killed In What Is Being Called A Training Accident: Five Children Are Left Behind As Their Father Dies Sunday

Two FBI agents killed in Virginia Beach, Va. Sunday in what officials are calling it a training accident that led to the two men's deaths.

The two FBI agents killed have been identified as Christopher Lorek, 41, and Stephen Shaw, 40. Lorek joined the FBI in 1996 and is survived by a wife and two daughters, 11 and eight-years-old. Shaw joined in 2005 and is survived by a daughter, three, and son, one, according to the Associated Press.

The FBI national press office announced what happened when two FBI agents killed on the agency's elite Hostage Rescue Team. No other details on the two FBI agents killed have been released, but the cause of this alleged accident is under investigation.

"We mourn the loss of two brave and courageous men," Director Robert Mueller said in a statement. "Like all who serve on the Hostage Rescue Team, they accept the highest risk each and every day, when training and on operational missions, to keep our nation safe. Our hearts are with their wives, children, and other loved ones who feel their loss most deeply. And they will always be part of the FBI Family."

The group formed 30 years ago, according to the AP. They are trained in military tactics and used for troubled spots of FBI agents and especially hostage situations.
