Madonna Billboard Awards Speech: Madonna Gets In Touch With Her Inner Diva; Sends will.i.am Out for Coffee [VIDEO]

Blame it on the microphone. Madonna’s Billboard Award speech looks like a diva fest from the first moments when she complained about the height of the microphone. Madonna, during her Billboard Award speech, looked sexy in fur, shades, stockings and garters, but she sounded like the neighborhood crank who tells you to stay off his lawn. Even the star-studded audience, which included Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and Nicki Minaj were squirming in their seats. Madonna’s Billboard Award speech was also one of the highlights of the ceremony.

After being introduced by the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, the ambitious blonde deigned to grace the world with her presence. When Madonna first took the stage for the Billboard Awards, she didn’t look like she wanted to be there. The Material Girl promised her speech would be short, but she went on four full minutes of self-absorption and promotion.

Madonna began by complaining about her microphone, saying, "They obviously think I'm shorter than I am. I'm not happy about that." She then filled the audience in on the complicated “ass negotiations" the star had with ABCs so they could show her fine behind in a pre-award clip package, "It took longer to negotiate whether I could show my ass in that trailer than it took to rehearse for my tour."

Madonna gave the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am her sunglasses, saying "It's good that I have Will here to hold all my props” and then sent him out to get her a drink or something.

The pop mommy joked about her children massaging her feet and gave props to her backup, reminding the audience "I've got the best dancers, I'm sorry." Madge didn’t forget her fans, though, "a showgirl needs her fans."

Madonna didn’t perform. She didn’t have to. She stole the show. Maybe it was that ass clip.
