Amy Poehler SNL Reunion With Seth Meyer On 'Weekend Update' During SNL Season Finale & Final Bill Hader Show [Video]

There was an Amy Poehler SNL reunion on Saturday night, when the former castmate came back for a Weekend Update skit with Seth Meyer during Bill Hader's final Saturday Night Live performance as a series regular.

On last night's season finale, there was an unexpected Amy Poehler SNL reunion when Poehler joined her one-time fellow cast member on stage to act out one more "Weekend Update" sketch with anchor, Seth Meyer.

The Amy Poehler SNL appearance comes with a lot of questions in the air about the future of certain cast members, including her co-anchor for the popular tag-line "Really?!" series as part of the Weekend Update segment, Seth Meyer.

A game Amy Poehler SNL performance occurred when she joined her fellow Weekend Update anchor in the fake incredulity of their "Really?!" news reading segment where Seth Meyers reads a news headline and Poehler responds with her quizzical look and the "Really?!" reading.

Using the "Really?!" tagline, the Amy Poehler SNL Weekend Update with Seth Meyer skewered such topics as the IRS's unpopular and scandalous week with one of the lines coming before the Amy Poehler SNL approved "Really?!" rejoinder "The government only keeps you around to make the DMV look good."

Not only that, but they parlayed that into a brief skit about President, Barack Obama, finding out about the IRS controversy by watching the whole thing go down on television, with the line "I don't want to live in a world where you have the same sources as my aunt" drawing big laughs during the show's 38th season finale.

The Amy Poehler SNL pairing with Seth Meyer also took a dig at the Tea Party, for being "surprised" after it was revealed they were targeted by the IRS because, you know, the Tea Party named themselves after the American Revolutionary leaders who famously and proudly violated tax laws.

Amy Poehler's SNL visit wasn't very spur of the moment though, as many consider this to be the final performance for Seth Meyer because he's set to take over former SNL alum, Jimmy Fallon's hosting gig on NBC's Late Night in early 2014.

Supposedly, Seth Meyer will continue to perform on the show when it returns for its 39th season in the fall, but it's unclear at press time whether Meyer will be returning to his slot as the Weeekend Update anchor. Meyer also writes much of the show, and you can bet he had a hand in the Amy Poehler SNL return.

After their "Really?!" skit, Poehler's SNL visit wasn't through.  She stayed on to deliver one news item about the San Francisco Bacon restaurant, named--creatively--Bacon Bacon, that was recently ordered closed after neighbors complained about the awful stench of bacon. The Amy Poehler SNL performance ended with her line about the Bacon Bacon restaurant:

"A restaurant in San Francisco called Bacon Bacon has been ordered to close after neighbors complained about the overwhelming smell of bacon. Which is not an easy thing to complain to the cops about."

We'll all miss the Amy Poehler SNL moments as well as Seth Meyer and Bill Hader who also gave his final performance for the show during the 38th season finale.
