Pauly D New Hair Style Proves The 'Jersey Shore' Star Is Finally Growing Up [Gif]

The Pauly D new hair is a far cry from the blown out hair he rocked while staring on MTV's "Jersey Shore" reality show about the hijinks of Jersey and New York City's most tanned and roided up denizens. But the "DJ Pauly D new hair" is also a sign that the former reality star is finally growing up.

The DJ Pauly D new hair comes as a bit of shock for people who followed the MTV hit "Jersey Shore" religiously because DJ Pauly D, real name Paul DelVecchio, spent more time on his hair than just about anything else.

The cement dome that looked, equal parts bouffant and helmet casing was Pauly D's hair for a long time. He took pride in the look, and would go through bottles and bottles of hairspray and gel to get the blown out hair in place. But the Pauly D new hair makes him look positively alter boy-esque.

Here is Pauly D is getting his hair ready before the Pauly D new hair look:

Think of all the time saved!

Pauly D isn't from Jersey Shore, despite his inclusion on the show. The Pauly D new hair might speak to the fact he grew up in Rhode Island, while his other former castmates lived in Jersey or nearby in Staten Island or the Bronx.

But the Pauly D new hair couldn't have happened if the DJ Pauly D hadn't landed on MTV's Jersey Shore in 2009. It's there where DJ Pauly, and to a certain extent, his hair, became a celebrity. And the disc jockey has parlayed that fame into a relatively successful business as a disc jockey, which he was doing before the fame of MTV and before Pauly D's 'new hair' could even be news, since there was no frame of reference for the Pauly D old hair.

In 2011 Pauly D won a "People's Choice" award for "Choice Reality Stare." And after Jersey Shore went off the air, Pauly D was the first cast member to receive a spinoff show, where camera crews followed him around on his DJ Pauly D career.

Time might have paid Pauly D (before the Pauly D new hair look) the highest compliment after he became the first cast member to get his own show:

"We're guessing Pauly D got the spot [instead of Nicole Polizzi or Michael Sorrentino] because he genuinely seems fun and easy to get along with. He's not known for diva antics like The Situation and doesn't appear a drunken mess at times, like Nicole and Michael do."

But will the Pauly D new hair change his attitude about life: will he no longer "gym, tan, laundry GTL" like he did on Jersey Shore.

This year, along with the Pauly D new hair, he's also got a single "Back to Love" with Jay Sean, made it on the UK charts, rising as high as 113. Does the Pauly D new hair coincide with more stringent career aspirations, or will he go back to clubbing and get his old look back?
