Kellie Pickler Wins 'Dancing With The Stars', Releases New Single 'Someone Somewhere Tonight'

Winner of "Dancing with the Stars" Kellie Pickler has much to celebrate, including the release of her new single "Someone Somewhere Tonight" on May 14.

As she pulled double-duty during her run on season 16 of the ballroom dance competition, she sat down with Country Weekly to discuss her first love-country music.

"When I went in to sing 'Someone Somewhere Tonight'...I was so exhausted because I'd just been bouncing from the dance studio to the recording studio," said the 26-year-old "American Idol" alumni.

"As soon as [the music] started, I was like 'man, this is great'."

And once she claimed the ultimate prize on "Dancing with the Stars," all signs of fatigue seemed to vanish.

"This is amazing! Oh my God!" she screamed after hearing the results, reported Reuters.

"I'm overwhelmed with joy," Pickler said US Weekly after the win. "I'm kind of speechless for the first time! Usually I can't be quiet! Usually I'm just spitting out words left and right, and now I don't know what to say."

Now, with new music, Pickler hopes to give joy to listeners and fans around the world.

"I love the verses of the song because...it really shines the light on not only the toughs and the bad that's going on out there," mused the blonde-haired songstress.

"It also shines a light on the sweet, innocent, good things that are taking place."

As demonstrated by the tears that allegedly fell following her win, much of Pickler's joy is due to husband and songwriter Kyle Jacobs.

"For me, my greatest treasure is my best friend and my best friend is my husband," she said.

"And every night I get to go home to a good man. I think for the people out there that have yet to discover their soul mate and that significant other, that hasn't found that best friend yet, I want to give them hope [with the single] that that is possible."
