Eva Longoria Tweets ’Big Day Today! Very Excited To Graduate For My Master's Degree In Chicano Studies!'

38-year-old Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria graduated from Cal State University Northridge with a degree in Chicano Studies Wednesday night.

Longoria has be taking classes, in person, for the past three years in order to acquire her master's degree from the university.

'I'm writing my thesis now. Hopefully, I'll finish in time!' she told E! News on May 6.

Sources say Eva's thesis was entitled "Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers." STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.

"Eva began the program while she was still working on "Desperate Housewives" and found time to complete her schoolwork on the set," according to actresses' rep.

Chicano Studies is described as a 'field that advances a critical understanding of the Chicana/o and Latina/o experience in the United States, according to the California State University website.

Longoria took to the social media site Twitter to express her excitement to her followers.

"Big day today! Very excited to graduate for my Master's degree in Chicano Studies! You're never too old or too busy to continue your education!"

The starlet's parents Enrique Longoria, Jr. and Ella Eva Mireles, were in attendance to watch their daughter graduate, and after the ceremony went to dinner in celebration.
