Hello Venus 'Too Seductive? That Is Our Look'

The 6-membered Hello Venus is back after a year-long hiatus.

Debuting last May with "Venus," Hello Venus worked diligently to come back a better, more mature group of musicians. Their efforts came to fruition earlier this year, as they received Best New Artist awards at 2012 All K-Pop Awards and Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards.

Hello Venus is famous for having held small concerts even from their trainee years. Each member is able to play an instrument well enough to put on a spontaneous jam session. In February, they sold out a small concert hall in just a few minutes upon ticket sales.

The new mini album, Would You Like Some Tea? features sensual lyrics and powerful on-stage performance. Unlike their previous songs that were girly and playful, the new song includes lyrics like 'Come over for some tea and take care of me until the morning.' The members themselves admitted, "We thought it was very seductive, to the point that we were wondering if such lyrics are okay for us."

Their looks have definitely matured. Doing away with boots and casual shoes, they put on 5 inch 'kill heels.'

About the steep competition in the current K-pop scene, Hello Venus said, "This is a great opportunity to learn from those who have been around for a long time. We would like to do our best and make our names known."

Like many other artists, Hello Venus chose 'number one' as their goal with the new album. But the weight of their words were definitely heavier.

"We used to always say, almost automatically, we want to be number one. But slowly, we are learning how difficult and rare it is to do that."
