Snooki Gets Slammed By New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been vocal about his disdain for the MTV series, The Jersey Shore, and everything the cast represents. So this morning, when Christie met Nicole "Snookie" Polizzi on the boardwalk, the two exchanged everything but niceties.
The 25-year-old new mom came face-to-face with the Jersey Shore-hating state governor this morning, and he definitely didn't play politics, telling Snooki she was "bad for Jersey," according to a tweet released by Snooki herself.
"Nicole simply wanted to know once and for all why Governor Christie dislikes the cast ofJersey Shore," Snooki's rep said. "The show brought the beloved summer destination a significant amount of revenue during its 6 seasons on MTV. Nicole loves, respects and admires her adopted state of NJ which she now resides in with her family."
Snooki and Christie have been feuding since 2008, when Christie publicly slammed The Jersey Shore.
Surprisingly, Ronnie didn't break out into a fight with the governor, remaining cordial and civil alongside his castmates. The ladies shook hands with him and even exchanged a few brief words about his efforts to rebuild the Seaside Heights boardwalk after it was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
This isn't the petite star's first political showdown. During his appearance on a showing of The View, President Barack Obama said he didn't know who Snooki was. However, he earlier joked that Jersey Shore's pint-sized firecracker, along with JWoww and Mike "The Situation," should be excluded from paying the new 12% tanning tax he imposed.
"I know he knows who I am," Snooki said in a statement, adding, "Why did he have to lie and say he didn't know me? He did say Snooki and JWoww about the tanning stuff and now he doesn't know who I am? He has to stop lying."
At least for now, all is well for The Jersey Shore star and her new family. But one thing is for sure, drama always follows a Jersey girl, so you can be sure to follow more news on the ever-so-famous Snooki.
